NEW DARWIN COLONY

New Darwin is main docking port for the USS Pathfinder and is commanded by Captain Oliver. The colony itself is stationed near Lake Mackenzie and offers a lush variety of plant and animal life, which is enjoyed by the USS Pathfinder crew when they resupply. Notable places are Ray’s pub and the newest state-of-the-art hospital. The colony offers a variety of races such as the Dali people, the Hirumarians, and the Ke’elzzoid.

HIRUMARIANS:

The Hirumarians are a race of anthropomorphic felines originating from outside Federation space. A ship with an Hirumarian crew arrived to New Darwin through a temporary wormhole that closed behind them and crashed on the planet. With no means to go back home, the survivors settled on the planet and integrated with the local population. They look like bipedal felines : their heads are similar to their feral counterparts, they're covered in fur of various colors and patterns, have claws, digitigrade legs and a tail. They are able to switch between bipedal and quadrupedal stance at will. One of their core belief is that the universe has been created by a entity they call The Mother-Goddess, who watches over them and sometimes gives a nudge to make their life stories interesting, because She loves a good story.

KE’ELZZOID:

The Ke’elzzoid species initially attacked the Federation and regarded Captain Davidson as a ‘vetal’, one that must be destroyed, after she engaged in chemical warfare against them while being controlled by Section 31. A hive was created on New Darwin by a rogue Queen, one who achieved peace with both the colony and Captain Davidson. Eventually the majority of the Ke’elzzoid were driven off back to the beta quadrant and are unaware of the hive’s existence. Due to the rapid growth of the hive, and the potential for misunderstandings, it is secluded far from the colony itself.
